Welcome 2013!

by Megan

The new year is upon us, and it’s time to refocus, regroup, and make some new goals! January will be all about resolutions and goal-making up in here, with our second Resolutions In Motion challenge (if we can get some more of you to SIGN UP), posts about how I’m working on my goals, and even a sponsored post about resolutions!

I didn’t realize until a few days ago that I didn’t even do a December goals post! I have been up to my eyes in teaching and working, and for the past two months, I’ve hardly had a second to call my own. I still have four weeks of teaching left, but for now I’m enjoying my much needed break!

So new year. Here’s the thing. You may have noticed that I talk about goals, resolutions, bucket lists, and all that on a pretty regular basis on this blog. It’s kind of my thing. So when January 1st rolls around and everyone starts talking about resolutions and goal-making, I get a little put out. But I’M the only one who gets to talk about those things!

Talk about goals, and Megan from 2007 will cut you.

Okay that’s not true, and I do wish everyone the best of luck on your goals in the new year.

But what are MY goals?

It’s a pretty easy choice for me. You see, my birthday is in May. And I’m going to be 29 (for reals, for the first time). That means it’s just under a year and a half until I’m (gasp) 30. Which means I need to hit my 30 Before 30 list like there’s no tomorrow (because soon enough, there won’t be)!

So in 2013 I will be focusing on my 30 Before 30 list and crossing off those goals.

Here are the ones I’ll be focusing on in January:

4. secret goal :)
5. implement a system of cooking family meals that works for me/create a repertoire of meals
9. go to the family history center/further complete my family tree
12. invest
15. finish reading Jesus The Christ
25. try out different cosmetics/decide on my favorite brands and products
28. choose a signature perfume
29. learn how to better control my lucid dreaming

Some of these will likely carry over into other months, but I think it’s a good starting point!

Other than that, my 2013 is going to be very divided. The first half of the year will be the remaining 6 months of my pregnancy, and the second half will be dealing with a newborn and starting up with some new weight loss and running goals. Oh, and we’ll also be looking for and moving into a larger house, and Carter will be starting Kindergarten. No big deal.

2013 will be eventful, no doubt about that. I think my overall goal will be to have fun along the way. Here’s to a fabulous year!

Happy New Year!

These are some good goals. I just realized I never finished reading Jesus the Christ. I really should.
