Vanessa's Big Big Party

Vanessa is turning two on February 18th, so we are cooking up a celebration over here! Truthfully, it's going to be a "small small party" with just us and my parents, but let me explain my post title.

We have Netflix, and that means that the kids watch some television shows that are a little obscure.

This is "My Big Big Friend." Vanessa is obsessed with this show. Carter is too. One of Vanessa's first phrases was "beeg beeg fwen!"

So I want to give her a "My Big Big Friend" birthday party. Only problem? You CANNOT get My Big Big Friend merchandise in the United States! The only merchandise that I've found is out of Brazil, on websites that are written in Portuguese. The prices are pretty steep, nevermind the shipping costs, if they would even ship to the US!

But my plan is to make this party happen anyway! My mom is a pretty skilled artist, and she made these to hang on our wall:

Awesome, right? I know Vanessa is going to LOVE them!

In addition, I'm going to get a custom cake made, such as this one, that another fan of the show posted on their Facebook page:

And then I'm going to get party supplies in matching colors: streamers, cups, plates, etc. I'm also going to print out some of the characters and "gluestick" them to the cups.

I also got some coloring pages from this site, so that's an activity the kids can do while the adults chat.

So I think our "big big" party is going to work out! I wish I could surprise Vanessa with a Big Big Friend stuffy, like this guy:

Either way, I think she will love her party. I can't wait to see her reaction to the Big Big Friends on our wall, and I will be sure to post photos after the party!
